Job Description

  1. Summary Under direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, performs a variety of duties in support of the maintenance and repair of CNS Healthcare buildings, facilities, grounds, and vehicles.
  2. Essential Functions
  3. Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  4. Performs assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance.
  5. Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
  6. Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair.
  7. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
  8. performs a variety of semi-skilled building trade duties, including carpentry, painting, plumbing and electrical. (e.g. drywall repair and replacement, painting, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.)
  9. Maintains grounds of facility/property (e.g. snow removal and salt application, outside trash removal, debris cleanup from doorways/sidewalks/grounds.)
  10. Performs plumbing maintenance (e.g. repair or replacement of leaks in faucets, unclogging of drains/toilets, replacing drain hoses on washers)
  11. Performs electrical maintenance (e.g. repair or replace wall switches and outlets, incandescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.)
  12. Assists with moving, reconfiguring, and installing, of modular offices and furniture to accommodate user needs, as well as set up and breakdown of conference rooms and other company events as needed. 
  13. Conducts regular inspection of facilitates and vehicles utilizing an established checklist/schedule
  14. Documents and files findings of inspections.
  15. Initiates actions to address any matters requiring attention (e.g., repairs, replacement, service calls, etc.)
  16. Responds to maintenance requests or facilities needs from email, phone, or verbal
  17. Delivers inter-office mail to each location daily.
  18. Perform some Facilities Coordinator duties as required.
  19. Other duties as assigned.

III.            Supervisory Responsibilities

  1.  None
  2. Required Education, Skills and Experience
  3. High School Diploma or GED
  4. 1-3 years’ experience in Facility maintenance
  5. Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry
  6. Knowledge in the use of hand tools (drills, power saw, hammer, screwdriver, etc.)
  7. Ability to work independently without limited supervision
  8. Working knowledge of (CMMS) Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and courteously
  10. Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  11. Ability to calculate simple figures such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
  12. Intermediate time management, problem solving, customer service, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  13. Intermediate collaboration and team working skills.
  14. Ability to be forward thinking and take initiative to accomplish goals and objectives of the department
  15. Intermediate level experience with computers and   Microsoft office products
  16. Ability to analyze information, research issues, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines
  17. Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience
  18. Certification in Facilities Maintenance 
  19. Additional Eligibility Requirements
  20. Requires valid and unrestricted Driver’s License
  21. Current proof of insurance and registration

VII.            Position type and expected hours of work Full time. This position will work Monday through Friday 8:00a to 4:30p with a 30-minute lunch. This position requires occasional weekends and early morning and evening work, as well as on call duty for facilities emergencies. 

VIII.            Travel— This position requires travel during the workday to other locations.

  1. Work environment— This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones. Works in an office environment with the usual pressures of completing projects/tasks in a timely and accurate manner. Because of multiple sites with the department it is common to drive to several locations, sometimes in inclement weather.
