Role and Responsibilities
The primary duty of the Manager, Materials and Logistic is to direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in planning materials, scheduling production, inventory management, product distribution and warehousing. This position is responsible for the material planning group which will include setting guidelines to operate under, assure all necessary training occurs as required, and identify the areas requiring additional development.
  • Sets safety stock levels of inventory components and finished goods
  • Determines component delivery schedules to support the master schedule
  • Assists in the development of kanban quantities to assure minimum inventory with maximum customer service levels
  • Prepares an attainable master schedule to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders, and to sustain the balanced, targeted finished goods level
  • Reports and resolves material support concerns daily
  • Prepares the daily production schedule to satisfy customer needs and inventory requirements
  • Effectively supports manufacturing by minimizing schedule strain and assuring component availability
  • Plans for the phase in and phase out of new product introductions and engineering changes to minimize excess and obsolete inventory
  • Coordinates material planning activity for material with long lead time as such to eliminate any potential supply interruption and minimize inventory
  • Responsible for meeting Business Plan Total Distribution cost
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Superior analytical and reporting skills
Firm understanding of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
Effective communicator with internal and external users
Knowledge of planning processes: demand planning, supply planning, new products introduction, material planning and S&OP process
Proven record of inventory analysis and optimization
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
5 years of experience in Materials Management, Inventory, Distribution or Supply Chain leadership

Preferred Skills
ERP Implementation specifically as it relates to Supply Chain
Distribution strategy development
Experience working in fulfillment with Amazon and other retail national accounts
Enthusiastic team player
Strong organizational skills
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work well under pressure
