The Quality Planning Engineer role will include but not be limited to:

  • Lead advanced product quality planning for new projects and engineering changes.
  • Create Pre‐Production PFMEA with collaboration of Project Team
  • Develop DVPRs with the Customer with support from Project Engineering.
  • Prepare testing concepts for series tests/ new programs (pre‐Launch Control Plans, Inspection Plans).
  • Create PPAP’s for submission to customers using AIAG guidelines and customer specific requirements.
  • Implement initial sampling (PPAP/ IATF) according to customer specifications.
  • Define new test equipment for new programs/ projects.
  • Communicate launch requirements to suppliers and track progress.
  • Work with program management, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve pre‐launch quality issues and provide technical support.
  • Prepare and coordinate customer audits for new projects.
  • Support for SOP/ new program start up with customers (90 days from launch).

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Manufacturing, Quality or Engineering.
  • 5+ years’ experience implementing Advanced Product Quality Planning processes.
  • Must know Stamping and Welding of manufacturing and assembly processes procedures, facilities and equipment.
  • Program Management experience (at least understand different project phases).
  • Experience in Engineering testing, laboratory testing, and customer communications.
  • Proficient in reading drawings and interpretation of part measurements.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of GD&T Principles as well as Statistical Quality Control.
  • Knowledge of attribute and variable gage design and function.
  • Demonstrate expertise in problem solving and applying sound technical judgement to develop possible solutions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of various OEM Customer Quality Requirements.
  • Travel as required to Customer locations, Supplier locations, some overseas travel may be required.
