Acts as a team leader for projects as requested by the Manager National & International Business Development or senior Oakland County leadership. Receives high visibility assignments and county-initiated projects to promote trade and investment in the county. Acts as a representative for Oakland County in attracting domestic and international business and investment by participating in virtual and in-person meetings and events to promote the county, its key industry clusters, and its resources and services. Assists with the development of marketing plans and strategy and provides support and information for companies considering investment in the county. International travel is required. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments
Minimum Qualifications

At time of application, applicant must:
1. Possess a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Administration, Urban Planning, Economics, Public Administration, International Relations, International Business Management, General Studies, Engineering or a related field.
2. Have at least four (4) years of full-time professional work experience in the public or private sector in international trade, international or national business-to-business sales, economic development, urban planning, real estate development, industrial development, or a closely related area.
NOTE: Applicants possessing transcripts from a college or university outside of the United States will be required to provide documentation of degree equivalency from a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (http://naces.org/members.html). The degree evaluation will be required for application processing.
NOTE: A Master’s Degree in one of the fields listed in 1 above may substitute for one (1) year of experience listed in 2 above.
3. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license. Out of Country driver’s license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver’s license before the hire date.
4. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
5. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.
