Under direct supervision, assists Water Resource Recovery Plant Operators in performing a wide variety of semi-skilled duties at various County sewage treatment plants involving appropriate physical, chemical and bacteriological testing and analysis to maintain an acceptable effluent. Assists in maintaining a daily record of all operations in the plant, and may operate a computer to input and retrieve data. Operates and performs preventive and general maintenance for a variety of mechanical equipment. Performs general maintenance work required to keep building and grounds in good repair. Water Resource Recovery Operator Trainees must take the first scheduled Sewage Treatment Plant Operator Class D certification examination after meeting the examination eligibility requirements and are also expected to take higher level certification examinations when eligibility requirements are met. It is expected that employees will make themselves available to work in after-hours emergency situations as deemed necessary by management.

1. Must maintain a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license.
