Job SummaryUnder direction, is responsible for establishing daily priorities for Community Correction Specialists. Reviews reports to ensure accuracy. Maintains and compiles relevant statistical data. Supervises the day-to-day operations of Community Corrections units and programs. Prepares and presents regular reports of unit/program statistics to appropriate officials. Functions as a liaison concerning Community Corrections programs between direct service staff and referring agencies, the District and Circuit Court judges, the Sheriff, the Prosecuting Attorney, and defense attorneys. Performs liaison duties between Community Corrections staff and administrative personnel. Promotes the use and support of Community Corrections with other criminal justice entities. Utilizes current county-wide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.

At time of application, applicant must:
1. a. Have a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or related areas; AND
b. Have had three (3) years of full-time casework or related work experience involving interviewing, investigating and counseling practices, procedures, and techniques. OR
2. a. Have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or related areas; AND
b. Have had four (4) years of full-time casework or related work experience involving interviewing, investigating and counseling practices, procedures, and techniques. OR
3. a. A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited college of law; AND
b. Have had two (2) years of full-time casework or related work experience involving interviewing, investigating and counseling practices, procedures, and techniques
4. Possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s or chauffeur’s license
5. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical exam established for this classification
6. Successfully complete the six-month probationary period.

Part-time positions work up to 1,000 hours per calendar year and allow employees the ability to work around commitments outside of the County. We offer summer employment, student positions, college intern positions, and year-round part-time employment.
