Job Description

Torch Technologies, a 100% Employee-owned company, is seeking a talented Simulation Engineer with experience developing real-time human in the loop simulations with game engines and a deep understanding of simulation construction, frameworks, and design supporting the Ground Vehicle System Center (GVSC) at Detroit Arsenal, MI. Candidate will work directly with customers to determine the requirements and is expected to support the planning and implementation of a network distributed simulation which integrates with Unreal Engine. Achieving simulation real-time performance is critical while managing subsystem scheduling synchronization. Candidate is expected to develop in fast iteration producing maintainable, testable, well-structured applications. Candidate should be dependable and self-motivated, eager to overcome challenges and solve problems. Previous experience working within a DoD environment is a plus, but not required. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • A technical degree with 3 to 5 years of experience in related work 
  • Manage system of system simulations and managing timing synchronization 
  • Familiarity network communication protocols like Message Passing Interface (MPI) 
  • Proficient with C++ 
  • Proficient with Unreal Engine development 
  • Proficient with simulation frameworks and design 
  • Familiarity with source control repositories such as Git and Gitlab 
  • Understanding of prototype development 
  • Understanding of how to define and develop requirements 
  • Understanding of how to make long term designs for future augmentation and development 
  • Must be a team player and know the importance of listening to others. Be a positive, active, and contributing member of the team 
  • This position may require occasional and infrequent travel.   This position requires access to protected government data and as such required an appropriate background check and may require a DOD security clearance.  Employment is contingent upon successful background check and maintaining appropriate clearances.
