Works directly with the Engineering and Lab teams to develop validation test plans, schedules, risk assessments, internal test specifications inclusive of reliability statement and generate weekly status reports.  Performs and owns reliability analysis throughout the product lifecycle.


  • Develop validation tests that replicate product usage and environmental exposure.
  • Develop validation test plans from customer engineering/test specifications, product risk assessments, customer reliability requirements, and customer field data.
  • Develop durability and performance test procedures and fixtures
  • Manage the execution of validation test plans
  • Provide weekly updates to internal and external customers
  • Perform engineering analyses on test results
  • Perform reliability analyses
  • Write test reports
  • Apply statistical methods to analyze and predict performance


  • BSME or BSEE/BSEET or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Familiar with laboratory instrumentation and data logging
  • Hands on mechanical skills
  • Familiar with gasoline and diesel powertrain mechanization and theory of operation
  • Basic understanding of reliability sciences
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Familiar with product risk assessments, e.g. DFMEA’s (preferred)
  • Familiar with Statistical and Reliability tools: Minitab, Reliasoft, etc.
  • Six sigma green belt (preferred)
  • Product or test engineering experience (preferred)
