POSITION SUMMARY:
Stoneridge, Inc., is an independent designer and manufacturer of highly engineered electrical and electronic components, modules and systems for the automotive, medium and heavy-duty truck, agricultural and off-highway vehicle markets. The Company is comprised of two segments: Electronics and Control Devices. We are seeking a senior AI Algorithm Development Engineer to work in advanced product development within the Electronics segment.

The Senior AI Algorithm Developer will work closely with our engineering team to develop advanced AI features for Stoneridge’s award winning product “MirrorEye”.  Key features to be developed for the MirrorEye system include camera calibrations, image stitching, trailer feature detection and object detection.  The system solution will be included in multiple production projects for commercial vehicles worldwide. This role will focus on the development of AI algorithm including computering vision, deep learning, object tracking, etc.  Additional responsibilities will include data collection, system simulation, data analysis and vehicle testing.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Lead engineers in the development of Caterpillars SmartCam system, as well as ADAS features. 
  • Develop cutting-edge AI algorithms, e.g., computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, object tracking based on Kalman filter, etc. with Model-based design methodology for automotive system development.
  • Work on the machine learning model training, testing, optimization, quantization, and compilation to deliver model artifacts for embedded systems. 
  • Work with System / Software teams to integrate and verify that developed features meet functional requirements on the embedded target environment.
  • Build simulations using IPG CarMaker tool and other simulation tools.
  • Perform data analysis with feature testing logs and write up testing report.
  • Work on IP development / patent application.
  • Define test methodology using DoE (Design of Experiment) and join vehicle testing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master degree with 1-3 years’ related experience or PhD degree with strong research experience in the AI area.
  • Strong coding, modeling and simulation experience with Matlab/Simulink/C++, Python.
  • Machine learning model training experience with tensorflow and pytorch. 
  • Strong problem solving capability.
  • Self motivated and team work oriented.
