Job Description

Area Support Cook Position Summary:

 

Under the direction of the Corporate Culinary team primary responsibilities include supporting our local SE MI communities in food production and assisting in the overall successful operation of the culinary department. This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic culinarian with room for advancement.

 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

  • You will assist in the preparation, planning, and cooking of various menu items
  • Ability to place minimal food orders in an emergency if needed
  • Responsible for maintaining and following company and state food & sanitation handling procedures
  • Responsible for overseeing the proper use of all dietary equipment.
  • Responsible for carrying out any emergency procedures required during shift if needed.
  • Ability to properly serve and expedite food during dining service
  • Maintain regulatory compliance where applicable.
  • Other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of catering, plate presentation, and batch cooking
  • Focus on food quality, portion control, and food cost
  • Inventory and production management experience a plus
  • Proficient in sanitation and food safety
  • ServeSafe Certified preferred


LANGUAGE SKILLS:
 Ability to read, analyze, and interpret facility forms, signs and product instructions. Ability to speak clearly and interpret verbal communication
