Job Description

Orotex, Novi has an immediate opening for a 3rd Shift, Die Setter. You will be an essential member of our team and will perform a variety of die-setting tasks that will improve our core processes in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing area.

Shift: 11pm-7:30am  Sunday-Thursday 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Fully set up jobs and make ready to start (instructions, packaging, materials, etc.)
• Daily audit of all lines to ensure the quality of production
• Change injection molds as per schedule in a safe and efficient manner
• Change End of Arm Tools (EOAT) with every changeover
• Record finished production and move into the designated quality check area
• Operate overhead crane and hi-lo daily
• Assist the shift leader with breaks
• Assure that injection department and tool cart is clean and organized
• At times may need to work an alternating shift, OT as required

Job Requirements:

  • Vocational Training certification or 2-year degree preferred, but not required
  • 2+ years of experience preferably in the automotive industry in high volume manufacturing
  • Knowledge of molding machines, overhead cranes, injection tools and parts
  • Hi-Lo and overhead crane operator licenses preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other safety rules and regulations as well as “housekeeping” standards
  • Excellent communication skills, time management and detail orientation
  • Motivation to analyze and solve problems

Pay rate: Negotiable based on experience

Potential Work Environment: Climate controlled but temperatures may vary at times from hot and cold. At times, non- toxic fumes. Daily work environment can include dirt, oil, and grime. Safety glasses required in molding press area.
Closed-toe, non-slip shoes required on plant floor.

Physical Requirements: Standing 100% of the shift. Continual reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling objects. Crouching and lifting 30 lbs. on/off during shift and at times up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, stooping and walking. Safety glasses are required/provided in certain areas of our manufacturing floor.
