Extrusion Machine Operator - 1st shift
6:45am - 5:15pm
Monday - Thursday (Friday OT)

We currently have a great opportunity for 1st shift Extrusion Machine Operator to join the Orotex Team! This position is required to operate, adjust, set and maintain all manufacturing equipment. Employee must be able to measure product and adjust equipment to produce product to Orotex Specifications. Must be able to package product as per packaging specifications. Must be able to perform duties in a quality manner and as trained. Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner and as dictated by Orotex Corporation Production Standards.

Position Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Operated extrusion machine on designated production lines as trained
  2. Provide maintenance of extrusion machines in order to keep materials running
  3. Adjust equipment within extrusion department as trained to produce quality product
  4. Package product as per packaging specifications
  5. Other duties as assigned
  6. Operate forklift to move material as needed
  7. Work overtime as required to meet production requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Basic mathematical skills
  2. ability to read a tape measurer, calipers and a digital scale
  3. ability to use hand tools
  4. ability to read and write in English
  5. Ability to work overtime as required with or without advance notice
  6. Ability to lift up to 35 lbs continuously and 50 lbs occasionally throughout an 8-12 hour shift
  7. Ability to stand throughout an entire 8-12 hour shift
  8. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Minimum of one year experience working in an industrial setting
  3. Previous experience operating a forklift is preferred but not required - must be willing to learn.

Potential Work Environment: Climate-controlled facility but temperatures may vary at times from hot and cold. 

Physical Requirements:  Standing and/or sitting 100% of the shift. Continual reaching, grasping, pushing and pulling objects. Crouching and lifting up to 30 lbs. on/off during shift and at times up to 50 lbs. Frequent bending, stooping, and walking. Safety glasses (provided) are required and steel toe, non-slip boots or shoes required.
