Continuous Improvement Coordinator

1st Shift CI Coordinator

Location:  Belleville, MI

Reports to:  Ian Martin (CI Manager)

Pay: $65k - $75k and 5% bonus.  No overtime.

Hours:  7am to 4pm  (Monday – Friday)

Experience:  Minimum of 2 years of Lean experience.

Must Haves:  1.  45-minute drive from the plant.  2.  Lean / 5s experience 3.  Experience in Automotive.  4.  Computer experience is a must (Microsoft Office)

Job Description: Continuous Improvement Coordinator

Including but not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

·         Evaluate manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities

·         Train and coach CI tools and techniques

·         Facilitate focus meetings on plant floor

·         Collaborate with cross functional groups on problem solving

·         Create and maintain visual standards on plant floor

·         Create and maintain standardized work documents

·         Facilitate corporate kaizen events

·         Perform time studies

·         Create and maintain labor cost standards

·         Create and maintain production targets, collaborating with plant manager and director of manufacturing

·         Evaluate business processes for improvement opportunities

·         Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

·         Excellent communication skills, problem solving skills and ability to collaborate

·         Knowledge and experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement Concepts

·         Experience working in a union environment

·         Ability to work across multiple shifts if needed

·         Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word and Excel

·         Ability to travel to domestic and international Neapco sites

Education

·         Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Business Administration is preferred
