Job Overview – Designer Assistant

As a designer assistant, you help to facilitate the design process for acquisitions, renovations, and special projects. Learn how to listen to customer needs and wants, learn about proposals, and assist in the customer final design outline. Learn about flooring, countertops, tile, cabinets, handles/pulls, sinks and faucets. Understand and learn the importance of measuring, layout, and design color pallets.

Basic Expectations

• All training will be hands on – must be willing to work Monday – Thursday and Saturdays. Often time Fridays will be off.
• Have the ability to listen, follow direction, ask questions and have full follow through.
• Must be able to create basic excel spread sheets and use the internet to research.
• Outgoing personality in showroom – also able to be excitable on the phone when calling customers is a must.
• Dress for success – a customer wants to feel confident in their designer.
• Ability to learn how to remodel, give a proposal and a price to a customer.
• Our company services are anywhere from a ¼ of a mile to 20 miles from the office - (25%) of the time travel is required – by going on appointments you will better understand the full design process. Hands on is the fastest learning tool.
• Ability to have fun.

First month hours are, Monday – Thursday 9:00am to 5:00pm and 2 Saturdays per month 10am – 3pm
