SUMMARY
Inductoheat, Inc. is a manufacturer of induction heat treating and forging equipment. With over 50 years in the industry Inductoheat strives to continue improving product, processes and procedures. The Inductor Design Engineers play a vital role in the success of our company; they are essential as the inductors/coils manufactured are reliant for the process being successful. Individuals that work in Inductoheat’s Engineering department can expect to become versatile in other aspects of company practice as well; often bringing much opportunity for personal growth within the company.
Designs and details part specific perishable tooling for induction heating equipment. The designer will use general design guidelines, previous designs, and metallurgical lab data to design induction coils, bus work, quench rings, and touch tooling. The designer will work with manager to choose material and manufacturing methods for lowest overall cost. Must be able to work on own from layout drawings with minimal supervision.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
· AutoCAD experience is required, and SolidWorks experience is highly desirable. Experience with drawing procedures and practices is required. This includes dimensioning and tolerancing techniques. Knowledge of machine shop practices and procedures is required. Experience with automotive specifications is desirable.
· An understanding of the physics of induction heating is desirable but not required.
· Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences.
Shows dimensions, material to be used, and other information necessary to make detailed drawing clear and complete
· Writing parts list for designs promptly to make sure material is purchased in a timely fashion.
· Writing of engineering releases as required to complete job.
· Working with outside vendors and shop personnel to follow-up on designs as they are built.
· Researching vendors and products to make better and less expensive induction tooling.
· Handle phone calls from customers and vendors to provide technical support or solve problems with manufacturing.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical Engineering and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and three to five years design experience.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand at desk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
