Job Description

New Oakland Family Centers provides comprehensive behavioral health and substance abuse services for consumers across Michigan, in both outpatient and partial hospitalization settings.

Location: Livonia - Schoolcraft

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm or another full-time equivalent.

Reports To: Director of Nursing / Nursing Supervisor / Clinical Director / Clinical Supervisor

Compensation: Salary Employee. Commensurate with experience.

Position Summary: The Psychiatric Registered Nurse is a full-time position comprised of multiple duties for the FACE to FACE Partial Hospitalization and Outpatient programs while working closely with the FACE to FACE and Outpatient therapists and psychiatrists.

Essential Duties / Functions:

  • Perform nursing assessments on new admissions to the FACE to FACE program.
  • Assist in co-facilitation of group therapy for the FACE to FACE program as needed.
  • Ensure medication consents are in place and updated as needed.
  • Perform nursing duties as assigned to the Outpatient program.
  • Assist in discharge planning process including medication refill provision.
  • Maintain records of medication samples and OTC medications including administration of such.
  • Maintain all first aid kits and ensure supplies are replenished as needed. Complete monthly audits of kits.  
  • Complete medication refill request daily. 
  • Dispense medication as necessary.
  • Perform urine drug screens.
  • Assist with safety and environmental issues.
  • Attend designated meetings as needed.
  • Complete documentation as required by the clinic’s policies/procedures.
  • Fulfill all initial and ongoing training requirements.
  • Attend daily FACE to FACE administrative meetings.
  • Ability to resolve all crisis situations appropriately.
  • Complete all incident/restraint reports for assigned site.
  • Actively participate as a positive member of the clinic environment.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and RN Licensure. Must be able to work well with all types of people including children, adolescents, and adults.

Working Conditions: Staff need to be prepared to be actively involved with clients. Navy blue scrubs required per Employee Handbook.
