Job purpose

A Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, integrating, and/or improving manufacturing systems or related processes. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible to ensure manufacturing process, equipment, and products align with safety standard and legal regulations. The engineer must have experience using CAD, CAM, and other data analysis programs. The Manufacturing Engineer works within the Drivetrain Systems All Wheel Drive Engineering matrixed organization in collaboration with the Engineering Manager.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluating existing manufacturing processes and identifying areas for improvement
  • Resolving problem resolutions and implementing improvements
  • Developing detailed layouts for equipment, processes, and workflow
  • Researching and developing new processes, equipment, and products
  • Developing and implementing cost-saving measures and quality control systems
  • Ensuring manufacturing processes, equipment, and products align with safety standards and legal regulations
  • Maintaining research and activity documentation and preparing reports
  • Build and perform preventative maintenance program
  • Assist in set-up, testing, validation and run of new equipment
  • Build and maintain spare parts list
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering preferred.
  • Experience evaluating and fixing manufacturing processes and machinery.
  • Experience in trouble shooting/diagnosing PLC error codes preferably Siemens.
  • Experience in Robotics, preferably Kuka.
  • Experience using CAD, CAM, data analysis programs and related software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organization and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • High level of technical expertise.
  • Strong analytical problem solve
