Job Overview

SAS Global Corporation is seeking an Estimator to join our corporate sales / design / manufacturing team. The estimator is responsible for deciding if the job request is a Design & Build or Per Customer Print. The estimator is tasked with predicting the timeframe to complete the job, the amount of labor (manufacturing and/or engineering) and materials required to produce the component or supplied services. The estimators work closely with many other professionals including engineering, accounting, consultants, contractors, and operations personnel to provide accurate and comprehensive job costs and pricing.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Enter detail estimates into company CRM and ERP software
  • Ensure that estimates meet client requirements
  • Provide input on product manufacturability
  • Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
  • Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
  • Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
  • Creating labor estimates for any project
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors
  • Managing bids from vendors and contractors
  • Using bid data to prepare a detailed cost analysis
  • Presenting prepared estimates to management
  • Compiling and recording actual costs

Knowledge, Skills Abilities & Education

  • Two year associates degree and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and data analysis
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Report writing and strategic planning skills
  • Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents (Contracts, T & C’s, Blueprints/Dwg’s)
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional time management skills

Work Environment:

  • Primary environment is in an office setting.
  • This position requires frequent visits to the fabrication shop, which can be loud and dusty.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:
