Job Summary
Under direct supervision, performs basic professional assignments in order to assist higher level engineering staff and to develop professional work knowledges and abilities. Applies standard techniques, procedures and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks necessary for effective project design, review and implementation including aspects of drain, sewer and/or water plan review. Following operations through a series of steps or processes, coordinating construction progress in an assigned area, preparing materials and labor cost estimates, and providing technical data to inspection and construction staff. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
Applications will be rejected if the following information is not provided at the time of application:
1. Must have completed at least 90 credit hours from an accredited college or university with a major in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering degree.
NOTE: Applicants possessing transcripts from a college or university outside of the United States will be required to provide documentation of degree equivalency from a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (http://naces.org/members.html). The degree evaluation will be required for application processing.
2. Possess a valid United States motor vehicle operator's or chauffeur's license. Out of Country driver's license holders will be required to obtain the appropriate valid State of Michigan driver's license before the hire date.
3. Pass the complete examination, including the employment medical, established for this classification.
4. Successfully complete the six month probationary period.

Special Requirements
