Job Description

SUMMARY

Fits and assembles components to construct, build, and repair machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES 

Following established methods and procedures must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following:

- Ability to read drawings and use industrial math to verify parts dimensionally before and after assembly    

- Ability to read, have knowledge of use and application of micrometers, calipers, and various standard shop gauges                     

- Experienced in safe operation or standard power and hand tools.

- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and adjust when necessary

- Adhere to all plant safety rules and regulations, all policies and procedures, complete all daily paperwork and attend all job-related meetings                  

- Analyzes assembly drawings, bills of material specifications, in order to carry out machine build

- Verifies conformance of parts to stock list and drawings

- Lays out hole locations and drills and taps holes on parts for assembly

- Align components for assembly and bolts, screws, dowels, welds, or rivets parts together, or arrange for assembly by Welder and Electrician                     

- Puts together plumbing systems using NPT fittings and ability to solder and fit together copper piping    

- Verifies alignment and tolerances of moving parts

- Test operation of assembly by hand

- Assembles sets up, and operates machine to verify functioning, machine capabilities, and conformance to customers specifications   

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

·  High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

·  One to three months related, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
