Job Description


The SHEQ specialist will be responsible for maintaining safety, health, environmental, and quality assurance

programs to ensure compliance and safe working conditions.          




  • Assists in maintaining Henrob Corporation’s ISO14001 Environmental Management System.
  • Assists in the implementation and maintenance of the OHSAS 18001 Management System.
  • Assists in the design, writing and implementation of policies, procedures and work instructions related to SHE programs, including coordination of activities for annual corporate Safety Day.
  • Prepare regulatory reports accurately and on-time based on laboratory data.
  • Track and maintain hazardous chemical inventory using the Atlas Copco database.
  • Attend SHE Committee meetings as required. Maintain meeting minutes, follow up and support plant staff to ensure closure to action items occurs in a timely manner.
  • Assist with investigations of New Hudson site accidents, injuries, or near misses to determine root causes and to implement preventive and corrective actions.
  • Keep up to date about current policies, regulations, and industrial processes associated with Henrob Corporation’s operation.
  • Recommend / implement safety features to reduce employees' exposure to chemical, physical, and other hazards, including documentation, training and enforcement of PPE requirements.
  • Collect and organize data from accident investigations, facilities inspections, or environmental testing to Safety Team and management staff as required.
  • Track monthly sustainability metrics.
  • Coordinate with HR and Department Managers to ensure new hires receive required safety training.
  • Deliver training to new hires on safety topics using established curriculum.
  • Manage waste and by-product shipments.
  • Reports to the SHEQ Engineer or Quality Assurance Manager.
  • Other related duties as directed by Management.



  • Knowledge and understanding of safety and environmental regulations in the U.S.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Good communication and organizational skills. Excellent written skills.
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve goals and targets established by the company
  • High energy level and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
  • Hands-on experience in the use of inspection, measuring and test equipment.
  • PC skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint programs.
  • Training/Certifications in waste water, DOT Hazardous Materials, RCRA, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 preferred


  • A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Chemistry or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum associate's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Science required, and 1+ years related experience.
