WHO WE ARE The Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility is offering excellent opportunities for individuals interested in a career in the criminal justice field. The successful candidates will work in a modern, 10-unit housing detention facility and will function as part of a highly motivated, team-oriented group of detention specialist professionals. Specialist work in both direct and indirect supervision housing units. Specialists are solely responsible for the general supervision, safety and custody of up to 10 children per unit of the facility. Youth housed at JDF are awaiting adjudication, sentencing or placement. Educational services are provided through an on-site charter school. Additionally, on-site medical services, dental services, mental health services, appropriate recreational activities, counseling and behavior management activities are provided to young people housed in the Juvenile Detention Facility.
