Detroit Public Library

The Detroit Public Library (DPL) is a prominent “do good” force in the Detroit community. For over 155 years the Library has served as ‘the pillar’ in the community providing vital resources for life-long learning. Consistent, reliable and steady; DPL provides citizens of all ages free, open and equitable access to information, technology and community programs. The DPL today includes our Main Library, 21 branches, a Mobile Library, and dedicated, highly trained and congenial staff.

The DPL is the largest public library system in the state of Michigan. The Main Library and its 21 neighborhood branches make it one of the most valuable and accessible public institutions in the state.
