Blue Water Community Action (BWCA) is just one of 30 community action agencies in the State of Michigan, and one of 1,100 nationwide. Community Action Agencies are non-profit, private and public organizations established under the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 to fight America's War on Poverty.
BWCA has a 50-year history of successfully providing a variety of programs that assist low-income individuals, seniors and families to become economically self-sufficient. These programs have focused on early childhood education, health and nutrition, new home construction, home repairs, financial counseling and emergency assistance services.
The Mission of the Blue Water Community Action is to advocate for and provide individuals with limited income an opportunity to become socially and economically self-sufficient in their community.
