Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mortgage Loan Officer/Trainee to join our financial services team. Duties

  • Assist clients in the loan application process, including gathering necessary documentation and explaining loan options
  • Conduct credit analysis and evaluate borrower financial information using FNMA guidelines and underwriting standards
  • Prepare and review loan documentation, contracts, and disclosures such as TILA and other regulatory requirements
  • Utilize mortgage software such as Quicken, accounting software, and financial software to process applications efficiently
  • Collaborate with underwriters, escrow officers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely loan approval and processing
  • Maintain compliance with Fair Housing regulations and other federal/state laws governing mortgage lending
  • Perform basic math calculations for loan qualification, including 10-key typing tasks for data entry
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Support loan processing activities, including verifying employment, income, assets, and liabilities
  • Stay updated on industry trends, mortgage products, and regulatory changes to enhance service delivery

Skills

  • Strong background in financial sales, negotiation, and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of FNMA guidelines, TILA regulations, mortgage servicing, underwriting processes, and escrow procedures
  • Familiarity with mortgage origination systems such as Quicken or similar financial software
  • Ability to analyze credit reports and perform credit analysis accurately
  • Proficiency in basic math skills including 10-key typing and math calculations relevant to loan qualification
  • Understanding of contracts, banking procedures, fair housing laws, and financial services industry standards
  • Experience with loan processing tasks such as document review and compliance checks is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for candidates eager to learn.
