SUMMARY

Designs electrical equipment and products by performing the following duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES 

Following established methods and procedures must be able to perform, but not limited to, the following:

• AutoCAD experience is required, and drawing procedure and practice is desirable.
• Design and layout of electrical schematics and drawings.
• Ability to work with the mechanical, controls, and induction tooling engineers during project design phases.
• Research vendors and products to make better and less expensive products.
• Analyzes equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine which existing designs can be modified and/or new designs are needed for the electrical equipment build.
• Prepares drawings in AutoCAD for cabinet layout with detailed drawings and schematics.
• Prepares parts list for all Bill of Materials needed during assembly.
• Provide sales, service, and aftermarket personnel with technical support.
• Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop design.
• Works with manufacturing personnel on the factory floor during the equipment assembly.
• Select components based on application requirements, customer specifications, and NEC 
requirements.
• Analyzes test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university
• One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
