Job Description

Disclaimer:
Prior experience in the fire protection industry is not required. However, applicants should have basic electrical knowledge, be comfortable using hand tools, and possess general mechanical skills.

Position Overview

  • Assist experienced technicians with installing fire alarm systems by using basic hand tools and following clear instructions.

  • Support with routine inspections and simple maintenance tasks by applying your mechanical and electrical knowledge.

  • Help test fire alarm systems to ensure they’re working properly, under the guidance of a senior technician.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including tool setup and cleanup.

  • Follow all company safety rules and standard procedures while working on job sites or in the warehouse.

  • Participate in on-the-job training and begin the process of earning certifications as needed.

  • Help move tools, materials, and equipment safely, including loading and unloading trucks.

  • Assist in making sure fire alarm installations follow code and help troubleshoot basic issues.

  • Support the team by helping fill out simple reports and documenting any problems or work completed.

  • Check in regularly with your lead technician and clearly report your progress and any concerns.

  • Help care for and maintain tools, ladders, and equipment, and report anything damaged or missing.

  • Assist with inspecting and performing light maintenance on company vehicles and related equipment.

  • Always use personal protective equipment and follow proper safety and tool-handling procedures.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

•High school diploma or equivalent.

•Basic knowledge of electrical systems preferred.

• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders.

• Comfortable working at heights, including on ladders and aerial work platforms.

• Physically capable of performing tasks that involve climbing, balancing, and working in various positions.

• Flexibility to work overtime, after hours, and on weekends as required to meet project demands.
