CanAm Industrial is looking for a highly experienced and hands-on Electrical Superintendent to lead and oversee field operations on complex industrial electrical and automation projects. The Electrical Superintendent will be responsible for managing crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and to code, and serving as the key liaison between the field and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors on site.
- Coordinate daily field operations, workforce scheduling, and material staging.
- Ensure work is executed according to drawings, specifications, and NEC/CSA standards.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all site-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other trades to resolve conflicts and maintain progress.
- Track project milestones, manage labor hours, and support productivity goals.
- Conduct site walk-throughs, inspections, and quality assurance checks.
- Assist in interpreting construction documents, resolving RFI issues, and implementing change directives.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician preferred.
- Minimum 7–10 years of industrial electrical experience, including supervisory roles.
- Proven leadership in managing large-scale industrial or automation projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and electrical schematics.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in field documentation and familiarity with construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.) is an asset.
