Project Design & Scheduling Coordinator

Job Description

Michigan Folding Doors & Sunrooms is seeking an experienced Project Design & Scheduling Coordinator to support residential construction projects involving folding doors, patio doors, and sunroom systems. This role combines design, project coordination, scheduling, and permitting to help move projects from initial concept through installation.

You will work closely with our Sales Team and Project Manager to create SketchUp drawings, document project details, help prepare quotes, coordinate with suppliers, schedule crews, and assist with permitting when needed. This position plays an important role in keeping projects organized, accurate, and moving forward.

Applicants should already be comfortable working in SketchUp Pro and have a strong understanding of residential construction workflow.

Service Area

Projects throughout Southeast Michigan, including Troy, Bloomfield Hills, Novi, Plymouth, Ann Arbor, and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and modify detailed 2D/3D construction drawings using SketchUp Pro
  • Produce basic 3D renderings and photo overlays for client presentations
  • Assist with site visits, field measurements, and documenting existing conditions
  • Assist with preparing quotes and maintaining accurate project details for estimating and ordering
  • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm specifications, lead times, and requirements
  • Track projects from quoting through production and installation
  • Schedule crews on jobs and prepare clear task lists outlining work to be completed
  • Use Jobber to help organize schedules, job details, and project progress
  • Work closely with the Sales Team and Project Manager to keep jobs on track
  • Handle or assist with permit applications and permitting coordination when required
  • Attend trade shows alongside the Sales Team as needed

Qualifications — Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong working knowledge of SketchUp Pro required (not entry-level). Candidates should be comfortable creating and modifying drawings independently
  • Experience with project coordination, scheduling, or construction administration preferred
  • Experience using Jobber strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and team members
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Construction field experience in finish carpentry, door/window installation, sunrooms, or residential remodeling is strongly valued
  • Experience with permits, construction documents, or municipal submittals is a plus
