Job Description

Position Summary:

Hard Rock Stone Works seeks motivated and reliable individuals to join our team as Granite Install Helpers / Apprentices. This is an entry-level position with the opportunity to train and grow within the granite and solid surface installation trade. Install Helpers support the Lead Installer with transporting, handling, and installing granite, quartz, and other countertop materials at job sites.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the skilled trades, with hands-on training provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Lead Installer with transporting materials and tools to job sites
  • Help carry, lift, and position granite and other solid surface materials
  • Learn to read and interpret installation drawings and job specifications
  • Set up and break down work areas and ensure cleanliness of the job site
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE (steel toe boots, safety glasses, hard hat, hi-vis vest)
  • Operate hand and power tools under supervision
  • Support the Lead Installer in problem-solving and customer interactions on-site
  • Continuously learn and develop skills necessary to grow into a Lead Installer role

Required Qualifications:

  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and Saturdays
  • Ability to obtain a valid Michigan Chauffeur’s License with a clean driving record
  • Must pass a physical exam and obtain DOT certification
  • Strong work ethic: punctual, honest, dependable, and a team player
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Ability to lift 100+ pounds safely and frequently
  • Must be able to climb stairs/ladders, lift, squat, and stand for long periods
  • Willingness to learn to read measuring tapes, blueprints, and operate tools
  • Comfortable using GPS and reading maps

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly pay starting at $20 based on experience, with increases based on performance and skill development
