Job Description

Position Summary:

Hard Rock Stone Works is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Granite Installer to join our installation team. The Lead Installer is responsible for overseeing and executing the installation of granite, quartz, and other solid surface countertops at residential and commercial job sites. This role requires industry-specific experience, leadership abilities, and strong attention to detail to ensure a high-quality finished product and outstanding customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the installation of granite and solid surface countertops at job sites
  • Supervise and mentor Install Helpers or Apprentices during each install
  • Review and interpret installation drawings and job specifications
  • Load, transport, and unload countertop materials with care and accuracy
  • Ensure all installations meet company standards and customer expectations
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams to resolve any on-site issues
  • Maintain accurate records of job completion and site conditions
  • Ensure the work area is clean and all tools and equipment are secure
  • Follow all safety protocols, including use of required PPE (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, high-vis vest)

Required Qualifications:

  • Granite or solid surface installation experience required (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a valid Michigan Chauffeur’s License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory physical exam and obtain DOT certification
  • Must be able to accurately read tape measures and installation drawings
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and guide support staff
  • Excellent organizational skills: able to manage time and prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Must be physically able to lift 100+ pounds, climb stairs/ladders, squat, and stand for long periods
  • Must be proficient in using a GPS system and reading maps
  • Flexible availability, including overtime and Saturdays when required
  • Professional appearance and strong work ethic

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $23+, depending on experience level
