We are seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic / Shop Lead to support our Master Mechanic in maintaining a large, high-use vehicle fleet. This is a fleet-only position – no retail customers. You’ll focus on the preventive maintenance and repair work that keeps our operation moving safely and efficiently.
This is an ideal role for a seasoned technician who is working toward or has already achieved Master Mechanic / ASE Master Technician–level certification and wants to grow into a true leadership position.

Position: Fleet Mechanic / Shop Lead (reports to Master Mechanic)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Status: Full-time, hourly
Compensation: Based on experience

About the Fleet
Responsible for 120+ vehicles
Oversight of all preventive maintenance (inspections, services, scheduled work)
Handling repair work when issues arise to minimize downtime
Focus on safety, reliability, and consistent readiness
What You’ll Do
Working under the direction of the Master Mechanic, you will:
Perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repair work on a large mixed fleet
Specialize in brake and suspension inspections, repairs, and replacements
Complete general mechanical work:
Fluid services
Tires and wheels
Steering and suspension
Basic electrical and lighting
Lead and support a small shop team on assigned projects and day-to-day tasks
Help organize and prioritize work across 120+ vehicles
Assist the Master Mechanic with:
Implementing maintenance schedules
Standardizing repair procedures
Monitoring vehicle condition and upcoming needs
Accurately document all work completed, parts used, and labor time
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
Communicate clearly with the Master Mechanic and management about timelines, major repairs, and vehicle status
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Leadership
10+ years of professional mechanic experience (fleet, dealership, or similar)
Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Experience leading or guiding a small team in a shop or fleet setting
Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple jobs and vehicles at once in a busy environment
Tools & Certifications
Must own a complete set of personal tools required for daily mechanical work
Current certifications, including but not limited to:
Brakes
Suspension / Steering
Actively working toward or already holding a Master Mechanic / ASE Master Technician certification (strongly preferred)
Work Style & Requirements
Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned work
Safety-focused with high standards for quality and attention to detail
Professional communication with shop staff, Master Mechanic, and management
Must be able to pass a drug screening, physical, and background check
