Program Smarter. Machine Better. Build Parts You're Proud Of.
Some machinists run programs.
Others write the programs everyone else wants to run.
They're the ones who enjoy figuring out the best way to machine a part—not just the fastest way.
They see unnecessary tool changes, inefficient toolpaths, or complicated setups and immediately start thinking about how to make them better.
They understand that the best program isn't just the shortest cycle time. It's the one that produces consistent quality, maximizes tool life, and allows the next machinist to succeed.
If that's how you approach machining, we'd like to meet you.
At Systematic Manufacturing Inc. (SMI), we're looking for an experienced CNC Mill Programmer / Machinist who enjoys owning the entire manufacturing process—from programming and setup through prove-out, production, and continuous improvement.
This isn't a position where you'll spend your day simply editing existing code.
It's an opportunity to create better processes, solve challenging manufacturing problems, and leave every job better than you found it.
What You'll Do
Every project is an opportunity to improve something.
Whether you're creating a new machining strategy, optimizing an existing program, reducing setup time, or solving a difficult manufacturing challenge, your work will directly influence quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Your responsibilities will include:
The Kind of Programmer Who Thrives Here
You don't settle for "good enough."
You're constantly asking yourself:
"Can this setup be simpler?"
"Can this cycle be faster without sacrificing quality?"
"Can the next machinist run this more efficiently than I did?"
You enjoy solving difficult problems.
You take pride in making complex parts look easy.
You understand that programming isn't just writing code—it's creating a process that delivers quality every time.
You care about craftsmanship.
You enjoy learning.
And you appreciate working alongside people who take the same pride in their work.
What You'll Bring
Experience That Will Help You Stand Out
What Success Looks Like
Programs run efficiently.
Setups are repeatable.
Parts meet print the first time.
Machinists enjoy running the jobs you've programmed because everything has been thoughtfully planned.
Customers receive quality parts on time.
And six months from now, the manufacturing process is better than it was the day you started.
That's what success looks like here.
Why SMI?
We're not looking for someone to simply write G-code.
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving manufacturing problems.
Someone who sees opportunities where others see obstacles.
Someone who wants the freedom to improve processes instead of simply maintaining them.
At SMI, you'll work on challenging precision components for the aerospace, defense, automotive, and advanced technology industries.
You'll work alongside experienced professionals who value craftsmanship, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
If you have an idea that improves quality, efficiency, safety, or consistency, we want to hear it.
Because the best ideas often come from the people making the parts.
Compensation & Schedule
Starting at $28.00 per hour, with higher compensation available for candidates who bring exceptional programming experience, advanced machining expertise, and a proven ability to improve manufacturing processes.
Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift
If you're the programmer other machinists trust, the one who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges, and the person who takes pride in building better processes—not just better parts—we'd like to have a confidential conversation.
No recruiters.
No pressure.
Just an opportunity to see if your next challenge is waiting at SMI.
