At Systematic Manufacturing Inc. (SMI), we're looking for an experienced CNC Mill Programmer / Machinist who enjoys owning the entire manufacturing process—from programming and setup through prove-out, production, and continuous improvement.

This isn't a position where you'll spend your day simply editing existing code.

What You'll Do

Every project is an opportunity to improve something.

Whether you're creating a new machining strategy, optimizing an existing program, reducing setup time, or solving a difficult manufacturing challenge, your work will directly influence quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines.
• Developing efficient machining strategies for low-volume, high-precision components.
• Selecting tooling, workholding, and machining methods that maximize quality and productivity.
• Reading and interpreting complex blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements.
• Proving out new programs and refining processes for repeatable production.
• Troubleshooting machining, tooling, and process issues independently.
• Working closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production to improve manufacturing processes.
• Identifying opportunities to reduce setup time, improve cycle times, increase tool life, and eliminate waste.
• Supporting continuous improvement throughout the shop.

What You'll Bring

• Strong CNC milling programming experience (CAM experience preferred).
• Advanced CNC mill setup experience.
• Experience with 3-, 4-, and/or 5-axis machining.
• Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies.
• Ability to read complex blueprints and confidently interpret GD&T.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• A commitment to producing quality work with minimal supervision.

Experience That Will Help You Stand Out

• Aerospace, defense, or other precision manufacturing experience.
• Experience programming complex multi-sided or tight-tolerance components.
• Fixture design or process development experience.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
• Experience mentoring or supporting other machinists.

Compensation & Schedule

Starting at $28.00 per hour, with higher compensation available for candidates who bring exceptional programming experience, advanced machining expertise, and a proven ability to improve manufacturing processes.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift
