(Senior CNC Swiss Programmer)
Own the Process. Solve the Difficult Problems. Leave Your Mark.
Some machinists are exceptional programmers.
Some are outstanding setup people.
Some know Swiss machines inside and out.
We're looking for the person who does all three.
The person everyone turns to when a part seems impossible to machine.
The one who sees a print and immediately begins thinking about workholding, tooling, cycle time, chip control, and how to build a process that's repeatable—not just today, but every time the job runs.
If that's the way you think, we'd like to talk.
At Systematic Manufacturing Inc. (SMI), we're looking for someone to take ownership of our Swiss machining operation. This isn't simply another programming position.
It's an opportunity to shape how work gets done, improve manufacturing processes, mentor other machinists, and become the technical leader behind one of the most critical areas of our business.
If you've spent years developing your craft and are looking for a place where your experience will genuinely influence the future of a growing precision manufacturer, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
What You'll Own
As our Swiss Machining Process Owner, you'll be responsible for much more than writing programs.
You'll develop the manufacturing process from the first print review through production, continuously improving every job that comes through the department.
Your responsibilities will include:
The Kind of Person Who Thrives Here
You don't see yourself as "just a programmer."
You're a manufacturing problem solver.
You enjoy difficult jobs because they force you to think.
You understand that the best Swiss programs aren't judged by cycle time alone—they're judged by consistency, tool life, reliability, and the ability to produce quality parts day after day.
You don't stop improving a process simply because the parts are good.
You keep asking:
"Can this setup be simpler?"
"Can we eliminate another tool change?"
"Can we make this easier for the next machinist?"
"Can this process run better six months from now than it does today?"
If that's how you're wired, you'll fit in well here.
What You'll Bring
Experience That Will Help You Stand Out
What Success Looks Like
Six months after you join SMI...
Programs run more efficiently.
Setups are more consistent.
Tool life has improved.
Cycle times have been reduced without sacrificing quality.
Machinists have greater confidence running Swiss jobs.
Production issues are solved before they become customer problems.
And the Swiss department operates better than it did before you arrived.
That's success.
Why SMI?
We're not hiring someone to simply maintain existing programs.
We're looking for someone to build something better.
Someone who enjoys solving difficult manufacturing challenges.
Someone whose ideas improve quality, efficiency, safety, and consistency.
At SMI, your experience won't disappear into layers of bureaucracy.
If you identify a better process, we'll listen.
If you develop a better machining strategy, we'll implement it.
If you help make the department stronger, everyone benefits.
We believe experienced tradespeople should have the opportunity to influence how manufacturing is done—not simply follow someone else's process.
Compensation & Schedule
Starting at $35.00 per hour, with substantially higher compensation available for candidates who bring exceptional Swiss programming experience, advanced process development expertise, and the ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift
If you're the programmer others trust with the toughest jobs... the person who enjoys solving manufacturing problems that others avoid... and you're ready to own an entire machining process instead of simply running it, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
No recruiters.
No pressure.
Just an opportunity to see whether your next challenge is waiting at SMI.
